SIRE: B-Y Serrasul (Al-Marah Ibn Sulejman x Nuserra)
CA Sulancelot's sire, B-Y Serrasul, is a grandson of *Sulejman who was foaled in Poland. He is half English as his dam,
Fasila (Rasim x Fejr) was bred by Crabbet and imported to Poland where she was
bred to Fetysz to produce *Sulejman. *Sulejman was a successful race horse in
Poland, finishing in the money in seven of eight starts as a three-year old.
He then had a three-part career at stud here in the USA. He was imported by
H. B. Babson, and is found in many pedigrees crossed with the Babson
pure-Egyptian mares. While at the Babson farm he sired the famous Tobruk (x Fazala)
and Maarlejman 2607 (x Fa el Mar), and some highly regarded broodmares.
Later on, he was sold to Walter Ross of Missouri, where he was used on a
variety of mares, including some Babson mares, some imported England mares, and some
USA bloodlines. While in Mr. Ross' ownership he sired, among others, Asylman
11101 (x *Ashan), Jasul 9345 (x Bint Azja), Komsul 11099 (x Komir), Lindora
11098 (x Bint Azja) and Sulayba 8741 (x *Shayba).
*Sulejman was then purchased by Bazy Tankersley where he was a beloved
individual, and a highly respected sire whose blood is still found in the Al-Marah
herd through Al Marah Waltzing Matilda 22097 (x Balena) and Al Marah
Sulejmans Flag 26684 (x Al Marah Danna)
*Sulejman's full brother Adonah ended up in East Germany at the end of
World War II where he stood at stud and has left a thin line there.
